I don't have children, nor do I have a blog about children's parties, but when I saw the recent submission by Kim Lauritsen from her son's 2nd birthday party I had to feature her event. Kim is a graphic designer, photographer, and super mom who put together one of the cutest kids parties I've seen in awhile. Just like most of us design geared folks out there, Kim is a visionary, and is extremely hands on with her design process.

She and her husband held their son's party at their home in Livermore and went all out with a Toy Story Woody theme...hats and handkerchiefs for everyone! Kim made almost all of the decor at the party and used her graphic design background for all of the details.
These little guys look they are having way too much fun!
Kim handmade all of the paper items you see using her graphic design background. She said the longest part was cutting out each piece - can you even imagine? Now, that is a designer if I've ever met one! Her company, Kimiata Creative Solutions, specializes in graphic design and photography. You can feel free to contact her directly at kim@kimiata.com if you are interested in her services.
Kim also made all of the food herself and offered up western themed cookies and marshmallow stick delights! She said she was actually disappointed by how the baking turned out but I think she did an amazing job considering how much just goes into the setup and design of planning a party.
Happy birthday to little man, Viggo!
